tially selected by said judge, with special reference to the
intelligence, sobriety and integrity of such persons, ^ and
without the least reference to their^ race or color, political
opinions and religious beliefs, which said panel shall be
selected from the several election districts of said county
as follows: from the first district, 19; from the second dis-
trict, 18; from the third district, 35; from the fourth dis-
trict, 23; from the fifth district, 32; from the sixth district,
10; and from the seventh district, 13; and of the names of
such persons so selected, and the several districts from
which they have been selected, a list shall be made and a
certificate thereto appended by the said judge that the said
list of names has been selected in conformity with and ac-
cording to the spirit and intent of this act, and the said list
and certificate shall be filed with the Clerk of said court
and by him be preserved as other proceedings of the said
court are kept.

250. When said list of names, selected as directed by
the provisions of Section 249 of this Article, is made and
certified as therein provided, immediately thereupon one
of the fudges of said court, in the presence of the members
of the bar as aforesaid, and such other persons as may at-
tend, shall proceed, in accordance with and in the manner
prescribed by the provisions of Section 254 of this Article,
a box of such dimensions as any one of the judges of said
court shall prescribe divided into seven equal compart-
ments or drawers, one for each election district, numbered
from "1" to "7, " inclusive, having first been provided by
the clerk of said court, to place the numbered marbles cor-
responding to the names selected, as aforesaid, as provided
for by said Section 254 of this Article, in said compart-
ments as follows: the marbles numbered from 1 to 19, in-
clusive, in the compartment numbered "1"; the marbles
numbered from 20 to 37, inclusive, in the compartment
numbered "2"; the marbles numbered from 38 to 72, inclu-
sive, in the compartment numbered "3"; the marbles num-
bered from 73 to 95, inclusive, in compartment numbered
"4"; the marbles numbered from 96 to 127, inclusive, in
the compartment numbered "5"; the marbles numbered
from 128 to 137, inclusive, in the compartment numbered
"6"; and the marbles numbered from 138 to 150, inclusive,
in the compartment numbered "7"; and after so deposit-
ing said numbered marbles the said box shall be closed and
the said judge shall then cause the clerk or one of his depu-
ties, whom the said judge shall designate (neither the one
nor the other who may be so required to act to be present
at the time the numbered marbles are deposited in the box
