gomery County are hereby authorized and directed to pay
all salaries and other expenses provided for in this section.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law and necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public health and safety,
and being passed upon a yea and nay vote, supported by
three-fifths of all the members elected to each of the two
Houses of the General Assembly of Maryland, the same
shall take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
3 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947
Supplement), title "Elections, " sub-title "Election Offi-
cials, " as said section was amended by Chapter 195 of
the Acts of 1949, increasing the annual salary of the
Supervisors of Elections in Montgomery County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 3 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Elections, " sub-title
"Election Officials, " as said section was amended. by
Chapter 195 of the Acts of 1949, be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:
3. Each Supervisor of Elections appointed under Sec-
tion 1 (a) or Section 1 (c) of this Article shall receive an
annual salary as follows: In Allegany County, $900; in
Anne Arundel County, $800; in Baltimore City, $3, 190
until January 1, 1950, and thereafter $5, 000: in Baltimore
County,. $1, 800; in Calvert County, $200; in Caroline
County, $300; in Carroll County, $400; in Cecil County,
$150; in Charles County, $125; in Dorchester County,
$200; in Frederick County, $480; in Garrett County, $300;
in Harford County, $300; in Howard County, $400; in
Kent County, $400; in Montgomery County, [$900] $1, 200;
in Prince George's County, $1, 000; in Queen Anne County,
$300; in St. Mary's County, $250; in Somerset County,
