1837.

Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Court of Appeals for the Western Shore be, and
they are hereby authorised and directed to hear any
appeal that may bo taken from the decision of Balti-
more county court in the case of the Regents of the
University of Maryland against Joseph B. Williams,
Treasurer of the Trustees of said University, at the
first term of said court to which said appeal may be
carried up.

ed.

An act authorising the Trustees of the Lower West
Nottingham Presbyterian Church, in Cecil county, to
purchase and hold land to the amount of fifty acres, in
addition to the four acres they now hold.

1838.

WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assem-
bly, by the the petition of the Trustees of the Lower
West Nottingham Presbyterian Church, in Cecil coun-
ty, that the interests of the said church would be great-
ly promoted by an act of the Legislature, permitting
them to hold real estate to the amount of fifty acres of
land in addition to what they now hold: — Therefore,

Preamble.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act
the Trustees of the Lower West Nottingham Presby-
terian Church, in Cecil county, be, and they are here-
by authorised and empowered to purchase, have, and
hold by deed or otherwise, fifty acres of land in addi-
tion to the four acres of land which they now hold.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said trustees or
a majority of them, and their successors, be, and they
are hereby authorised and empowered to sell and con-
vey, release or dispose of at their pleasure, the whole
or any part of said real estate when acquired under the
provisions of this act.
