An act entitled, a supplement to an act, for the promo-
tion of Education, in Somerset County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Maryland, That the commissioners for Somerset coun-

ty, be, and they are hereby empowered and directed
to appoint on, or before the first Monday of June next,

children for Somerset county, and shall notify each
trustee of his appointment; and in case of the death,
resignation, removal, or disqualification of any of
said trustees, then, and in that case, the said commis-

sioners shall proceed to fill up said vacancy, or va-

cancies.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said trustees, or

a majority of them, as soon as convenient after their

appointment, shall make a census of the poor children
in the election district of which they are trustees, of
