three, Aquilla Turner, Alexander Middleton, Igna-
tius W. Gardner, James H. A. Middleton and Ed-
ward Smith; for school district number four, Theo-
dore Mudd, Francis Wilkinson, James T. Thomas,
Hendley C. Waters, and George Gardiner; for dis-
trict school number five, John Hughes. Oswell Gib-

bens, Henry L. Mudd, Leonard S. Robey, and John

W. McPherson; for district school number six, Ben-

jam in H. Jameson, William Queen, Benjamin Adams,
Theophilus Dent, and Henry H. Freeman; for school
district number seven. John D. Bowling, William

Matthews, William C. Dyer, James Morton and Hen-
ry Canter.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty,
of the trustees of each of the respective school districts
aforesaid, as soon as practicable after the passage of
this act. to acquire by purchase, or gift, a site of not
less than one acre of land at or near the place fixed
upon by the commissioners aforesaid, or at some cen-
tral point within the limits of said districts, to be se-
cured by deed, or otherwise, to said trustees, and their

successors in office, for the use of said schools, and to

cause to he erected thereon a comfortable school house

tion of at least, thirty scholars, and to defray the ex-
penses thereof out of the fund, and in the manner here-
inafter provided.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the Treasurer of the
Western Shore be, and he is hereby authorized and
required, as soon as practicable after the passage of

this act, to convert into cash, by sale or otherwise, the

invested, school funds of Charles county, and deposite
the same in the Farmers' Bank of Maryland to the
credit of the orphans' court of said county for the pur-
poses contemplated by this act.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That with a view to enable
the trustees of the several district schools aforesaid,
to carry into effect the provisions of the second section
of this act, the orphans' court of said county be, and
is hereby authorized and required, as soon after the
first day of June next as the trustees of any of said dis-
