LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAPTER 142.

Passed Mar. 7,
1839.

An act for the benefit of Joseph Walker, Collector of
Tax for the fourth Collection District, in Baltimore
County.

Authority to col-
lect.

SECTION l. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That it shall and may be lawful for Joseph
Walker, collector of tax, for the fourth collection dis-
trict of said county, to proceed in the collection of ar-
rearages of tax, in as full and ample a manner as he
could or might have had at any former period, for two
years from the passage of this act.

Accounts on oath.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted. That the aforesaid Jo-
seph Walker, shall in every instance before he may pro-
ceed to the aforesaid collection, make affidavit before
some justice of the peace, of said county, that the same
remains unpaid, and hath not received any security or
satisfaction for the same, or or part thereof, more than
what credits may be allowed thereon.

An act to incorporate the Western Mechanics' Savings
Institution of Baltimore.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland. That Joseph Newman, James Dixon, David
Carson, Maulden Perine, Thomas Deane, Jacob Israel,
John Feast, Cornelius Hollet, Nicholas Smith, Enoch
Burnett, Joshua B. Sumwalt, and all and every other
