II. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the several brigade inspectors shall receive, as a compensation for
their services, the sum of sixty dollars annually, to be paid by the treasurer of the western or east-
ern shore, as the case may be, ouc of any unappropriated money in the treasury.

An ACT to establish a board of agriculture for the counties therein
mentioned.

WHEREAS societies for the promotion of agricultural and domestic manufactures would, by
exciting a spirit of emulation, and by diffusing useful information, tend much to the advance-
ment of the prosperity of the state, and ought to be encouraged; therefore,

Preamble.

II. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That there be erected, and hereby is
erected, a board of agriculture in Caecil, Kent, St. Mary's, Anne-Arundel, Somerset, Worces-
ter, Baltimore, Talbot, Allegany, Montgomery, Washington and Caroline counties, in the state of
Maryland, and that the said boards of agriculture be regulated under the management and direction
of the trustees herein after mentioned, to wit:
For Csecii county— Zebulon Hollingsworth, Samuel Moffett, Samuel Miller, Daniel Sheerdine,
John Gilpin, James L. Porter, Thomas W. Veasy, John R. Evans, Stephen Hays, Henry T. Sleey-
ter, William Alexander, Jeremiah Taylor, junior, Frisby Lloyd;
For Kent— James Parker, James Welsh, John Carvell Hynson, junior, Cuthbert Hall, William

For Talbot—Edward Lloyd, Jacob Gibson, Samuel Stevens, junior, Robert Moore, Robert H.
Goldsborough, Samuel S. Dickinson, Robert Lloyd Nicols, James Goldsborough, James Nabb, John
Kersey, William Hayward, Peter Denny, Peter Edmondson, Solomon Dickinson and William Brown,
be and they are hereby appointed managers of the said boards of agriculture, and the said managers,
and their successors, in the several aforesaid counties, shall be and they are hereby erected and de-
clared to be, bodies politic, in deed and in law, by the names of The Managers of the Boards of
Agriculture for the respective counties before mentioned, by which name and title they the said ma-
nagers, and their successors, shall be capable to hold, to them and their successors, for the use of
the said boards of agriculture, monies or effects not exceeding two thousand dollars, and the same,
or any part thereof, to put out to interest, for the use of the said boards, in such manner as the
