CHAP. 144.

sum of money not exceeding three hundred dollars, upon
the assessable property of said district, to be applied to the
purpose of completing a public road running from Montgo-
mery road to Old Rolling Road, opposite the Folly Gate;

Proviso.

provided, the commissioners shall believe that the applica-
tion of such sum of money is expedient.

 

CHAPTER 143.

An act for the benefit of the heirs of James Healy, of
Harford County.

Orphan's
Court to pay
over, &c.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Orphan's Court of Harford county are hereby au-
thorized and required to pay over to Elizabeth Healy, wi-
dow of James Healy, late of paid county deceased, such
amount of money as the said James Healy was entitled to
receive as his proportion of the school fund for educating
poor children, and that the said widow is hereby authorized
to receive and distribute among the heirs said money in
like manner as the administrator of the said James Healy
would have been authorized and required to receive and
distribute the same.

 

CHAPTER 144.

An act for the benefit of Abraham Wilhelm and others.

Preamble.

WHEREAS it is represented to this General Assembly
that a judgment has been entered on the records of St. Ma-
ry's county court, in favor of the State ef Maryland, against
Abraham Wilhelm, John H. Milburn and others, as securi-
ties of the said Abraham, for the sum of two hundred and
sixty-three dollars and thirty-three cents, with interest from
the first day of July eighteen hundred and thirty-eight; and
whereas it is also represented that the said Abraham, prin-
cipal in said judgment, is unable to pay the same, but that
said judgment is a lien upon ample property of the securi-
ties for its payment; and whereas an execution has been
issued on said judgment, and to press an execution at this
time would lead to a sacrifice of the property of said secu-
rities — therefore,
