Commissioners may, in their discretion, appropriate for the
purpose of supplementing such contributions.
Said County Commissioners are authorized and empowered
to adopt, and from time to time repeal, supplement, and
change such rules and regulations as they may deem neces-
sary for the proper administration of said Special Fund for
widows.
The County Commissioners of Baltimore County are au-
thorized and empowered to employ or authorize the employ-
ment of such officers, agents, servants and employees, or other
assistance necessary for the proper administration of said
Special Fund for widows, and to provide for the payment of
salaries and expenses incurred in connection therewith.
The County Commissioners of Baltimore County are au-
thorized and empowered to levy such taxes as may be neces-
sary to pay for the establishment and maintenance of said
Special Fund for widows.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect1 June 1, 1949.

(House Bill 706)
AN ACT to repeal Sub-section (c) of Section 304 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Baltimore County (Smith's 194S
Edition), title "Public Works", sub-title "Roads, Bridges,
Sidewalks and Storm Water Drainage", to eliminate a
provision with regard to the purchase of materials to be
used by the Roads Engineer of Baltimore County, said
provision being unnecessary by reason of the establish-
ment of a Purchasing Department of Baltimore County to
operate under rules and regulations of the County Com-
missioners.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That sub-section (c) of Section 304 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Baltimore County (Smith's 1948 Edi-
tion), title "Public Works", sub-title "Roads, Bridges, Side-
walks and Storm Water Drainage", be and the same is here-
by repealed.
