1684 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 972

38A. The County Treasurers of the several Counties
of the State shall receive annually the respective salaries
herewith set forth for performing the duties required of
them by their respective Public Local Laws and by the
Public General Laws of the State:

The County Treasurer of Allegany County shall receive
an annual salary of $1, 500. 00.

The County Treasurer of Calvert County shall receive
an annual salary of $2, 000. 00.

The County Treasurer of St. Mary's County shall receive
an annual salary of $1, 800. 00.

The County Treasurers of Caroline, Kent, Queen Anne's
and Worcester Counties shall receive an annual salary of
$2, 400. 00.

The County Treasurer of Howard County shall receive
an annual salary of $2, 500. 00.

The County Treasurer of Carroll County shall receive
an annual salary of $2, 700. 00.

The County Treasurer of Charles County shall receive
an annual salary of $3, 000. 00, out of which he shall pay
the compensation of the Assistant Treasurer.

The County Treasurers of Cecil, Dorchester, Somerset,
Talbot and Wicomico Counties shall each receive an annual
salary of $3, 000. 00.

The County Treasurer of Garrett County shall receive
an annual salary of $4, 500. 00, out of which he shall pay
for any assistants or clerks.

The County Treasurers of Harford and Montgomery
Counties shall each receive an annual salary of $3, 600. 00.

The County Treasurer of Frederick County shall receive
an annual salary of $4, 000. 00.

The County Treasurer of Anne Arundel County shall
receive an annual salary of $5, 000. 00.

The County Treasurer of Baltimore County shall receive
an annual salary of $5, 200. 00.

The County Treasurer of Prince George's County shall
receive an annual salary of $6, 000. 00, out of which he shall
pay the compensation of certain clerks.

The County Treasurer of Washington County shall
receive an annual salary of $9, 000. 00, out of which he shall
pay for any assistants or clerks.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That any proposed
increased compensation for any of said County Treasurers
shall not apply to the present incumbents but shall only
be payable to their successors appointed or elected after
June 1, 1945.
