thereof shall notify the State Comptroller of such vacancy as
soon as he is informed thereof.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety, and having
been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths
of all of the members elected to each of the two Houses of the
General Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date
of its passage.

CHAPTERS.

(House Bill 1)

AN ACT to repeal Section 57 of Article 17 of the Annotated
Code. of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Clerks of Courts",
sub-title "Clerk of the Court of Appeals", said section re-
quiring the Clerk of the Court of Appeals to pay the State
Treasurer Two Hundred Dollars ($200. 00) when he takes
the oath of office.

WHEREAS, the tax on commissions of all public officials was
abolished by Chapter 36 of the Acts of 1941, thereby making
this section inoperative; therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 57 of Article 17 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Clerks of Courts", sub-title
"Clerk of the Court of Appeals", be and it is hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1943.

the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
