CHAPTER 18.
(House Bill No. 25)

AN ACT providing for the payment during the year 1944 of
compensation to the Bailiffs of the Supreme Bench of Balti-
more City and the Bailiff of the Orphans' Court of said
City receiving annual salaries of less than Three Thou-
sand Dollars ($3,000) and authorizing and directing the
Mayor and City Council of Baltimore to provide funds for
making said payments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That every Bailiff of the Supreme Bench of Baltimore
City, and the Bailiff of the Orphans' Court of said City,
receiving a regular annual salary of less than Three Thou-
sand Dollars ($3,000), shall receive, in addition to said
regular salary, a payment of One Hundred Eighty Dollars
($180.00). Said additional compensation shall be paid during
the year 1944 in such manner and at such time or times as
the Board of Estimates of Baltimore City shall determine.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1944.
