Local Laws of Maryland (1888 Edition), title "Allegany
County, " sub-title "County Treasurer, " as said section was
amended by Chapter 115 of the Acts of 1910, be and it is here-
by repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as fol-
lows:
39. At the General Election for county officers for Alle-
gany County to be held in said county in the month of Novem-
ber, nineteen hundred and thirty, and every four years there-
after, a County Treasurer shall be elected by the qualified
voters of said county, who shall hold the office of Treasurer
for a term of four years from the first day of April next after
his election and qualification, or until his successor is elected
and qualified, and the Treasurer so elected shall be continu-
ously eligible for re-election to said office, and shall be subject
to removal from his said office for any neglect of duty or mis-
behavior in office at any time, by the County Commissioners of
said county; the said Treasurer so elected shall give bond as
directed in Section 40 of this Article, and said Treasurer, be-
fore proceeding to exercise the duty of his said office shall take
and subscribe an oath, before the Clerk of the Circuit Court
of Allegany County such as is taken in cases of similar trusts,
and shall not, during the term of his office as such treasurer
hold any other office, either municipal or county, State or Fed-
eral. And in the event of the removal of such treasurer by
death, resignation or otherwise, the County Commissioners of
said county shall appoint some other person, a citizen of said
county, to hold said office for the unexpired term of the treas-
urer so removed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1929.

CHAPTER 389.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
779 of Article 11 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, title "Frederick County, " sub-title "Treasurer, "
as codified in the Code of Public Local Laws of Frederick
County, Maryland (legalized by Chapter 86 of the Acts of
1918).
