struct sidewalks, curbs, gutters and roadbed and street im-
provements in any road, street, or avenue in said annexed
territory made a public highway of said town by this Act,
or by said Mayor and Common Council acting under the
power and authority granted by this Act, (which improve-
ments may be constructed all at the same time or at different
times) and, after the completion of said improvements, or
any of them, it shall assess the cost thereof upon the land
abutting the same. The construction of said sidewalks, curbs,
gutters and roadbed and street improvements, or any of them,
and the assessment of the costs thereof shall be made under
the provisions of the Laws of Maryland, and any amendments
thereof, applicable to the Mayor and Common Council of
Hyattsville authorizing it to make such improvements and to
assess the costs thereof against the property abutting the same,
and shall be collected in the same manner provided for the
collection and enforcement of taxes and assessments of the
town of Hyattsville.

SEC. T. And be it further enacted, That all the inhabit-
ants of the territory annexed to the town of Hyattsville by
this Act shall, in all respects and to all intents and purposes,
be subject to the powers, jurisdiction and authority vested,
or to be vested by law, in the Mayor and Common Council of
Hyattsville, and to all the ordinances now in force in said
town, or which may hereafter be enacted and ordained by it,
so far as the same may be consistent with the provisions of
this Act, and the territory so annexed shall, in all respects,
be taken and considered as a part of the municipal corpora-
tion of the Mayor and Common Council of Hyattsville.

SEC. 8. And be it further enacted, That for the purpose
of determining whether the residents of the territory herein-

above described desire the same to be annexed to the town of
Hyattsville, there shall be held an election on the fourth Tues-
day in April, 1927, and Dwight B. Galt, Herbert F. Mitchell,
Sylvanus F. Bergling, Mrs. Marie Hollingsworth, Roland T.
Read, Howard L. Little, John R. England, Mrs. Marie
Felter and William Craighead are hereby appointed a com-
mittee for the purpose of holding said election. In the event
any of said committee shall die, become incapacitated from
acting for any cause, or refuse to act, the said election shall
be held by the remaining member or members of said committee.
