NO. 34.

Relating to the modification of the Immigration Laws to pro-
vide farm labor.

WHEREAS, There exists at this time a great shortage of farm
labor in this country; and

WHEREBY, A large percentage of the immigrants coming to
our shores are not adopted to farm labor but settle in congested
quarters of our great cities, be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
Congress of the United States be requested and urged to enact
by legislation such appropriate changes in the present immi-
gration law as may permit the admission of a larger percentage
of immigration from the countries of northern and western
Europe.

Resolved, That a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the
Speaker of the House of Representatives and a copy to the
President of the United States Senate.
