the sum of five pounds Sterling to be Leveyd on his body goods and Chattles Lands and
Tenements to the use of his Said Lopp his heires and Successors in the Sum Conditionally that
if the Said Esther Gooding Shall not appear any time this Court to give Evidence on his
Ld Ship's behalfe against the Said Thomas Yorkson wherewith he Acknowledges himselfe

Esther Gooding and app.rs in her proper pson and prays that the afd Recognizance may
defend  Ordered by the Court here that the Same be dishc.d The afd Esther Gooding
in the Sum of five pounds Sterl and the Said William Woodland for her appearance
are both discharged

Kent County fs The jurors for the right honourable the Lord
proprietarie that now is for the body of Kent County afd upon
their Oath do present that Andrew Norvill late of Shrewsbury
parish in the County afd Weaver the tenth day of October Anno
Dom Seventeen hundred twenty and Nine with force and Arms
at the Parish afd in the County afd within the Jurisdicon of
the Court on file of the value of twelve pounds of Tobacco of the goods and Chattles of a
Certain Daniel Greenwood then and there being found then and there feloniously did Steal take and
bear away contrary to the peace of the Said Lord proprietarie that was in his good rule and
Government and against the form of the Act of Assembly in Such Case lately made and
provided  Test Evan Beck Humphry Younger                        T francis Clk. pac.

    Underneath the Same bill was as foll Bella Vera per Tho.s Hynson foreman
And the afd And.w Norvill in his proper person cometh and Saith that he is not in any
Sort guilty of the pmises above upon him imposed as by the afd Indictment it is alledged
and thereof he putteth himselfe upon the Country                And.w Norvill in p.a psona

    And he who followeth for the Lord prop.ry in like manner Saith he is guilty

    Thereupon Command was given to the Sherf of Kent County that he Immediately
cause to come here twelve &c.a By whom &c.a who neither &c.a to Recognize &c.a Because as
well &c.a of which Said precept the Said Sherf to wit Joseph Young Gent was here at this
day to wit the third tuesday in Novemb.r being the Eighteenth day of Said Month Anno
Dom Seventeen hundred and twenty nine makes return that he hath here ready
twelve &c.a as by his precept he was Commanded  And now here afterwards to wit the
day and Year last mentioned Come againe the afd Ld prop.ry by his Attry af as the afd
Andrew Norvill in his proper person And the Jurors of that Jury being Impannelled and
called likewise came to wit William Woodland Charles Smith Thomas Bordley Edward Rogers
Jun.r Morgan Hurt William Deane Samuel Gooding  John Macay John Clayton Joseph Hull
John Browning Daniel Bryant who being duely Elected tryd and Sworn to Say the
truth in the premises Upon their Oath do Say that the afd Andrew Norvill is guilty of the
felony as he Stands Indicted and by William Woodland there foreman all So Say Therefore
it is Considered by the Justices here Att the Court House in the Town of Chester in Said
County on the third tuesday in Novemb.r being the Eighteenth day of Same Month Anno
Dom Seventeen hundred and twenty Nine That the Said Andrew Norvill Stand in the
Pillory one quarter of an hour and that afterwards he Receive at the publick whipping
post five Lashes well Laid on his bare back till the blood appearas as a punishment
for his afd Crime of felony According to the force form and effect of the
verdict afd as also pay the Sume of two Shillings Current money being the
four fold of the file afd be paid Daniel Greenwood as also
