bonds authorized by this Act to be issued, and the date of ma-
turity of each bond, the date and sale and amount of each
bond, and when a bond is redeemed said bond shall at once
be cancelled on the face thereof and an entry of said cancel-
lation shall be made on said book of registry; said bonds when
issued shall be and they are hereby exempt from payment
of all county and municipal taxes.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of
the preceding section of this Act shall not become effective
unless the same when submitted as hereinafter provided to
the qualified voters of the City of Hagerstown at the regular
municipal election in March. 1922. or at a special election
held therefor, shall be approved as hereinafter stated.

After the passage of this Act for the submission of the
provisions hereof to the qualified voters of Hagerstown at any
special election, the Mayor and Council of Hagerstown shall
by ordinance or resolution fix and designate the date when
the said provisions of this Act shall be submitted to the quali-
fied voters of Hagerstown at such special election, which date
shall not be less than eight nor more than twenty days after
the passage of said ordinance or resolution. In case more
votes are cast at said general municipal election in March,
1922, or at any special election thereafter, against than for
said bond issue, the Mayor and Council shall within ninety
(90) days thereafter by ordinance or resolution fix a date for
the resubmission of the provisions of this Act to the voters of
Hagerstown and resubmit the provisions of this Act as here-
inafter provided. The provisions of this Act shall be publish-
ed in full at least three (3) times in each of the daily news-
papers published in Hagerstown, the first of said publications
to be not less than eight (8) days before the time of either
the general or special election.

The manner of submission shall be, that on the ballots at
the said regular municipal election or at any special election,
there shall be printed the words "For issuing bonds for addi-
tional funds to complete the Sewerage System, " with a blank
square opposite at the right, and the words "Against issuing
bonds for additional funds to complete the Sewerage System, "
with a blank square opposite at the right, and all voters de-
siring to vote for the provisions of this Act shall place a cross
(X) mark in the square opposite the words "For issuing bonds
for additional funds to complete the Sewerage System, " and
all voters desiring to vote against the provisions of this Act
