(43) A Proclamation For His Majesties Province of Maryland &c Whereas it pleased Almighty God to Call to his mercy o.r Late Sovrign Lord King Charles y.e second of most blessed Memory by Whose Decease y.e Imperiall Crownes of England scotland france & Ireland as Also the supreme Dominion & soveraign Right of y.e Province of Maryland & all other his Late Majestes territoris & Dominions in America: are soly & Rightfully Come to y.e High & Mighty Prince James: Duke of Yorke & Albany his Majesties only Brother & hey.r We Doe therefore w.th y.e Principe officers & Inhabitants of y.e Province afores.d Doe now hereby w.th one full Voyce & Consent of tongue & heartt Publish and Proclame: That y.e High & Mighty Prince James y.e second is now by y.e Death of o.r Late soveraign of happy memory become our only Lawfull Lineall & Rightfull Liege Lord James the second by y.e Grace of God King of England Scotland France & Ireland Defend.r of y.e Faith supreame Lord of y.e Province of Maryld And all other his Late Majesties territories & Dominions in America &c.a To whome We Doe Acknowledge all faith and Constant obedience w.th all hearty and humble obedience and affections beseeching God by whome Kings Reigne to bless y.e Royal King James y.e second w.th Long and hapy yeares to Reigne then us
The above written is a true Copy of y.e Printed proclamation sent from England for y.e proclaiming of his Majestie King James y.e second in y.e Province in testemony whereof is fixed y.e great seale of his s.d Province this ^tenth^ Day of June Ann q Dom 1686
