CHAP. 187

zens thereof are deeply concerned, and the Legisla-
ture of Maryland, by sundry laws passed for the pro-
tection of oysters within this State, and by the law to
which this is a supplement, have sought to secure the
advantages resulting from that article of trade, which
have fallen short of the object they were designed to
accomplish; end whereas, citizens of this and other
States infesting said waters, have continued to take
and carry away oysters in violation of the laws upon
that subject enacted, and it is justly apprehended that
oysters in the waters of this county will be entirely
destroyed : — Therefore,

Unlawful to
catch within
300 yards

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act,
it shall not be lawful for any person or persons, other
than citizens of Queen Ann's county, to take, catch,
carry away or otherwise destroy any oysters within
three hundred yards of low water mark, in any of the
waters bordering on the shores of said county.

Penalties

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That if any person or
persons shall be found guilty of the violation of this
act, or any part thereof, he, she or they shall be sub-
ject to all the liabilities and penalties of the act to
which this is a supplement.

Repeal

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That so much of the act
to which this is a supplement, as is inconsistent with
the provisions of this act, be, and the same are hereby
repealed, so far as relates to Queen Anns county.

A supplement to an act for the benefit of John S. Crockett
and Cadmus Sashiell, administrators of Matthias
Dashiell.

Time extended

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the act, entitled, an act for the benefit of John S.
Crockett and Cadmus Dashiell, administrators of Mat-
thias Dashiell, passed at December session, eighteen
hundred and thirty-five, which expired by its own limi-
tation on the tenth of February, eighteen hundred and
thirty-seven, be, and the same hereby is extended, and
