161 ~  Court convenes, Tuesday, 10 January, 1692/3; Commissioners present: Francis Jenckins, Thomas Newbold, James Round, Capt. John King, Stephen Horsey

 

162 ~  Letter from W. Saylard, Registrar of Chancery Court, dated 17 Nov 1692; requests records from trial of Francis Gunby vs. Thomas Jones, be sent to Provincial Court for review, per appeal by Jones; Court orders Clerk to make copies of all records and transmit to St Marys.

 

162 ~  Letter from W. Saylard, Registrar of Chancery Court, dated 6 October 1692; requests records from trial of Petert Whaples vs. Henry Lynch be sent to Provincial Court for review, per complaint by Lynch of errors in the case; Court orders Clerk to make copies of all records and transmit to St Marys.

 

162 ~ Petition of John Donne to be released from three bonds made on behalf of his wife, Maple, son-in-law Lawrence Young, and Servant wench Rose Bryan; granted after proclamation being made three times by Court Cryer.

 

163 ~  Warrant for Mary Maxwell, servant of Mr. Edward Jones, to appear in Court; signed 9 January 1692 by Stephen Horsey; accused of stealing parcels of tobacco from Randal Revell and Miles Gray; Court orders her and witnesses to report before Capt. John King and Stephen Horsey at Horsey’s house on next Saturday “that the matter might be further inspected into”.

 

163 ~  William Burch ordered into the Sheriff’s custody for lack of bail.

 

163 ~  Capt. Edward Archer & Alexander Kyle recognizance for 100 shillings unto Nathaniel Horsey, in connection with dispute between Archer and Horsey; Archer to abide by award of two men chosen to resolve the dispute; John West bond on Horsey to Archer for 100 shillings.
