by him in the investigation of the charge of assault with intent
to rob Mrs. Jessie Hurd, as follows:

To Dr. W. R. Stokes for making blood test...........$25.00

To amount paid Capt. Thos. F. Hogan, for services as a

detective in Kurd case 3 days at $3.57 per day.... 10.71

Railroad Fare to Chestertown and return........... 4.29

Meal and car fare in Wilmington ................. .65

To Mrs. William R. Pippin, board for Captain Hogan.. 5.00

$45.65

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Approved April 10th, 1914.

CHAPTER 635.

AN ACT to authorize and direct the Board of County Commis-
sioners for Kent County, Maryland, to pay unto Harrison W.
Vickers, Jr., the State's Attorney for Kent County, Maryland,
certain expenses incurred by him in the investigation and trial
of the cases of the State of Maryland vs. Norman Mable and
James Parraway, amounting, in the aggregate, to the sum of
$219.71.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners for Kent County,
Maryland, are hereby authorized and directed to pay unto
Harrison W. Vickers, Jr., the State's Attorney for Kent,
County, Maryland, the sum of $219.71 for expenses incurred
by him in the investigation and trial of the cases of the State
of Maryland vs. Norman Mable and James Parraway for the
murder of James R. Coleman, as follows:

To Detective John Kratz for service rendered in ob-
taining confessions from Mable and Parraway..... $25.00

To Dr. W. R. Stokes for making blood tests, etc., in
the case of Norman Mable..................... 35. 00

Expert testimony and attendance at court.......... 25.00

To Detective John Kratz for four days' attendance

at Elkton trial, $3.57 a day..................... 14.28

To Capt. Thos. F. Hogan for four days' attendance

at Elkton trial, $3.57 a day...................... 14.28
