Assented to March 9, 1864.

Resolutions granting facilities to assist the making of a correct Map of the State. Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That Simon J. Martenet be and he is hereby granted the free use of the State Library; under the existing rules, and regulations thereof, anil he is hereby also granted free access to such other Archives and State Records as may contain appli- cable data, to enable him to collect all the mate- rials that may have been acquired, which may as- sist him in perfecting his proposed Map of Mary- land; and the various State officers are requested to furnish him every facility for the accomplish- ment of that object. Resolved, That the United States Coast Survey and other Government authorities are hereby re- quested to furnish said Martenet the requiste fa- cilities for acquiring such data in possession of the Government as may be useful or desirable, for, the fulfillment of the above purpose. Resolved, That a certified copy of these resolu- tions be furnished said Simon J. Martenet, for his use, for the purposes above expressed.

Assented to March 9, 1864	Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the Governor be and he is hereby authorized to expend any surplus of the contingent fund, or so much thereof as may be necessary in his hands, in refurnishing and repairing the Government House.
