This church is one of the landmarks of South Baltimore
and occupies an important place, in the life of the population
of this city. Some of the most distinguished public men have
spoken from its platform. It is known for its forward move-
ments and its observance of the anniversaries of public men
and important happening, such as the Proclamation of
Emancipation by the immortal Abraham Lincoln.
