and to defray the expenses of the Commissioners as per Sec-
tion 89 of Article 39 of the Code of Public General Laws,
title "Fish and Fisheries," subtitle "Commissioners of Fish-
eries," seven thousand dollars, or so much thereof as, in the
opinion of the Governor, may be necessary; to the Fish Com-
missioner of the Western Shore, for the propagation of fish
within the waters of the Western Shore, the sum of fifteen
hundred dollars, no part of the said appropriation to be ex-
pended in the killing of eels in the Wicomico River, or in the
other waters of the State of Maryland; to the Fish Commis-
sioner of the Eastern Shore, for the propagation of fish within
the waters of the Eastern Shore, the sum of two thousand
dollars; and the Commissioners of Fisheries are hereby di-
rected and required to make a detailed report to the Governor
at the end of each fiscal year of the expenditures of said funds,
with the vouchers thereto attached.
MILITIA.
For the support of the militia of the State, to be distributed,
applied and expended under the supervision of the Governor
and Commander-in-Chief in accordance with the Acts of As-
sembly in such case made and provided, the following sums,
or so much thereof as may be necessary, are appropriated; for
the contingent and necessary expenses of the Adjutant Gen-
eral's office and for the maintenance, equipment and discipline
of the land force of the militia, duly organized as prescribed
by said Acts of Assembly, the sum of seventy thousand; for
the maintenance, equipment and discipline of the first naval
battalion, duly organized as prescribed by said Acts of As-
sembly, the sum of ten thousand dollars.
REFORMATORY AND OTHER INSTITUTIONS.
To the Maryland School for Boys the sum of twenty thou-
sand dollars, for maintenance, together with the further sum
of seven thousand five hundred dollars for buildings; to the
Female House of Refuge, the sum of six thousand dollars;
to the House of Reformation and Instruction for Colored
Children, the sum of ten thousand dollars; to the Managers
of the Maryland Hospital for the Insane, the sum of seventy-
one thousand dollars for the support of the institution; to
the Hospital for the Negro Insane, the sum of twenty thou-
sand dollars; to the Deaf and Dumb Asylum at Frederick,
for the education of the deaf and dumb, the sum of thirty-
two thousand dollars for maintenance, together with the fur-
ther sum of five thousand dollars for buildings; to the Mary-
land School for the Blind, for the education of the deaf and
dumb and blind colored children of the State, the sum of ten
