JOINT RESOLUTIONS.

983

WHEREAS, It is apprehended that the only way by which
said case can be pushed to a speedy conclusion is to have the
Attorney-General apply to said Court for a rule on the State
of "West Yirginia to proceed ; now, therefore, be it

Preamble.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
Attorney-General be and he is hereby authorized and directed
to apply to the Supreme Court of the United States for a rule
to be laid upon the State of West Virginia, or its legal repre-
sentatives in said case, to show cause why it should not proceed
in said case.

Application
to be made
to Court.

And be it further resolved, That the Attorney-General be
and he is hereby authorized and directed to use all such means
as are consonant with the rules and practice of said Court, to
push said case to a speedy conclusion.
