CHAPTER 54.
AN ACT to add a new Section to Article eleven of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Frederick
County," sub-title "Frederick," relating to the duties and
powers of City Register, to be known as Section 180 A, and
to follow Section 180 of said Article eleven as repealed and
re-enacted by Chapter one of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland, passed at the session of eighteen
hundred and ninety-eight.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it is hereby added to

180 A. And it shall be the duty of said City Register, as

tax collector, without further compensation, to complete the
collection of all taxes levied during his term of office, and he
shall be allowed the torm of one year after the expiration of
the term for which he was elected to collect in the manner
provided by the charter and ordinances of the Mayor and
Aldermen of Frederick all balances due on taxes levied
during his term of office in the same manner as he could
collect the same during his term of office.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 55.
AN ACT authorizing the Mayor and City Council of Balti-
more City to provide certain aid annually for Mrs. Ida E.
O'Keefe, widow of Thomas D. O'Keefe, and her infant
children.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore city

sions for the aid of Ida E. O'Keefe, widow of Thomas D.
O'Keefe, who was a fireman in the tire department of said
city, and who was killed in the service of said department,
