CHAPTER 99.
AN ACT to prohibit the laying of railway tracks upon
Lombard street between Patterson Park avenue and Broad-
way, in the city of Baltimore, without the consent of the
General Assembly of Maryland.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

CHAP. 99.


Maryland, That it shall not be lawful for any person or cor-
poration to lay any railway tracks upon Lombard street
between Patterson Park avenue and Broadway, in the city of
Baltimore, without the consent of the General Assembly of
Maryland ; provided, that this Act shall not restrict in any
way the right of any passenger railway company now incor-
porated or that may hereafter be incorporated, to cross said
Lombard street, when such railway company shall be author-
ized by the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore to use any
street or avenue opening into said Lombard street.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
Approved March 27, 1902.

CHAPTER 100.
AN ACT to add an additional Section to Article 65 of the
Code of Public General Laws, title "Militia," to follow
Section 9, to be known as Section 9 A.

Unlawful to
lay railway
tracks on
certain parts
of Lombard
street.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and the same is hereby
added to article 65 of the Code of Public General Laws, title
''Militia," to follow section 9, to be designated as section 9 A,
and to read as follows :

9 A. That in addition to the number of officers and enlisted
men hereinbefore authorized, there may be commissioned and
enlisted in the Maryland National Guard one assistant surgeon,
with the rank of captain, for duty with Troop "A," cavalry,
and one hundred and fifty enlisted men to be organized into
hospital corps detachments, under such rules and regulations
as may be prescribed by the commander-in-chief.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
Approved March 27, 1902.
