STAFF NOTES

Program 1

Shirley S. Duncan was transferred from her position of Secretary
III to the Department of Water Resources as Secretary I, effective
September 5, 1967. Appointed to her position was Susan S. Warner.
Mrs. Warner resigned as of October 24, 1967.

Judith W. Eucare was reinstated as Secretary III effective Octo-
ber 25, 1967. Mrs. Eucare had been Secretary III, until April 1967.

Program 2

Thomas P. Dunbar, Photographer I, resigned on January 30, 1968
to join the Marine Corps. On February 13, 1968, William Edward
Mays was appointed to the position of Photographer I.

Patricia A. Miller resigned her position of Clerk-Typist II as of
August 8, 1967 and Janice P. Church filled the position on August 9,
1967. She resigned as Clerk-Typist II on December 26, 1967. Susan
C. Wharran was appointed Clerk-Typist II on December 29, 1967 to
replace Miss Church.

On November 21, 1967 Darlene D. Jewell married and became
Mrs. Robert Boettcher.

Program 3

Thomas A. Bull resigned from the position of Clerk I on July 11,
1967. Joe D. Duval was appointed to Clerk I on July 12, 1967, and
resigned on September 19, 1967 to further his education.

Sunhild D. Darden was appointed Clerk I on October 2, 1967.

Program 4

There were no changes in the staff which we had taken over from
the Land Office.

I am pleased to report that there were no changes in our pro-
fessional staff in any programs for the year.

PARTICIPATION IN PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES

The Archivist spent a good deal of time attending various com-
mittee and commission meetings during the past fiscal year. He at-
tended the monthly meetings of the St. Mary's City Commission held
at St. Mary's City, and the monthly meetings of the Maryland His-
