gave us a large collection of Maryland Court of Appeals Reports. We
also received genealogies of the Chance, Ferrell, Frazier, Duvall and
Stringer families. Mrs. Irma Tilghman permitted us to photostat her
copy of the Atlas of Wicomico, Somerset and Worcester Counties. Vera
Filby gave us a copy of her history of the community of Savage in
Howard County.

We purchased more books than usual during the year. This was
partially because we added a large number of Quaker publications which
supplement our holdings of the records of that denomination. We
continued our purchases of Mr. McAllister's Abstracts from Dorchester
County Land Records. From the Maryland Historical Society we pur-
chased a replacement copy of Mrs. Passano's Index of Source Records
of Maryland and a copy of Professor Callcott's History of the University
of Maryland. We were happy to welcome the new reprint editions
published by the Folklore Associates.

By exchange, we received guides to the holdings of archival
agencies in West Virginia, Nebraska and Illinois. By deposit we have
received copies of the codes of Caroline, Carroll, Charles, Harford and
St. Mary's Counties, as well as the journals, laws and supplements to
the 1957 Annotated Code of Public General Laws.

Our library now contains approximately 7,600 titles.
