Among the miscellaneous activities of members of the staff, mention
should be made of a talk which Mr. Thomas made to the Genealogical Society
of Detroit in the auditorium of the Detroit Public Library, September 13,
1952. Mr. Thomas also published an article on the papers of George Washing-
ton at the Hall of Records, in the Picket Post, and a review of Lyman H.
Butterfield's Letters of Benjamin Rush in The American Archivist. A no-
tice of the initiation of our Records Management Program appeared in the
Neu'S Letter of the Municipal Finance Officers Association for June 1, 1953,
thereby stimulating a good deal of correspondence from records officers as
far away as Puerto Rico and Guam. A review of the Seventeenth Annual
Report of the Archivist was published in The American Archivist for July
1953 and one of the latest Red Book Calendars in the October 1953 issue of
the same journal.
