equally instructive as the descriptive part is entertaining.]

The prospectus for printing this poem appeared in the Maryland Journal and Baltimore Advertiser on February 20,1784.
As soon as one hundred subscriptions were obtained it was to be published "... in Octavo, on a good Letter and fine Paper,
containing between eighty and ninety pages." Subscribers were to pay 33 6d when the book was delivered to them. "The
Book begins with a Piece dedicatory, and the Poem is introduced by a solemn Invocation of the Muses, and an Inquiry
into the Cause of Winter, after which the Narration commences."
