EXECUTIVE CHAMBER,

FEEDERICK CITY, May 8, 1861.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

In compliance with your order of April 29, I have directed
the Adjutant General to furnish me with the information asked
for in said order ; and herewith transmit to your Honora-
ble Body, the report and accompaning papers furnished me
by him.

To His Excellency, Gov. HICKS,

Annapolis, Md.

DEAR SIR :—I have received yours of the 16th inst., I am
astonished at the contents.

All 1 have to say is, that 1 will receive "back such as are
worthless and make those that are perfectly serviceable at
least as good as sample furnished you last summer. Will
not your brother go to a place where there is any complaint
collecting such arms as are not considered good serviceable—
have the same carefully packed so that they can be transpor-
ted without damage to me. Hence, giving me a prompt op-
portunity of making all right which I am sure you will be
improved most fully. Let there be no unnecessary delay in
