the Maryland General Assembly, work has already begun on the successor legislators to
those surveyed here, with the next volumes covering those men who sat from 1790 through
1867. As the legislators in this next group take on an identity beyond mere names listed in
old leather-bound volumes of Assembly proceedings, we believe much more will be learned
about who governed Maryland and how Maryland government worked under its first three
state constitutions.
