where, and may have a common seal and the same
to alter or break at pleasure; and to do all other
acts necessary to carry into effect their incorpora-
tion.

Power to pur-
chase pro-
perty.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the incorpo-
" ration created by this act shall have power to pur-
chase, hold, improve and enjoy any property, real,
personal or mixed, ^ith such meeting-house and
burying-ground as they may now own, or may
hereafter purchase, not exceeding twenty thousand
dollars, to the best interest of said church.

By-laws.
|
Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the incorpora-
tion created by this act, shall have power to adopt
such constitution and by-laws as they may see
proper, in accordance with the discipline of the
Methodist Episcopal Church, and not inconsistent
with the constitution and laws of this State.
|
Made valid.
|
Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the acts and
doings of the Board of Trustees heretofore acting
as such for said church, be and the same are here-
by ratified and made valid.
|
In force.
|
Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT supplementary to an Act to incorporate
the Annapolis Water Company, passed at Jan-
uary Session of eighteen hundred and sixty-five,
chapter one hundred and twenty-three.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Annapolis Water Company
may agree with the owner or owners of any land,
earth, timber, gravel, stone or other materials, or
any improvements which may he wanted for the
construction or repair of their reservoirs and dams,
for the laying of pipes, and for the other purposes
