SEC. 7. And be it further enacted, That all of the inhabi-
tants of the territory, and the territory itself, annexed to the
City of Mount Rainier by this Act, shall in all respects and to
all intents and purposes, be subject to the powers, jurisdiction
and authority vested, or to be vested by law in the Mayor
and City Council of Mount Rainier, and to all the laws and
ordinances now in force in said City, or which may here-
after be enacted and ordained by it, so far as the same may-
be consistent with the provisions of this Act, and the terri-
tory so annexed shall in all respects be taken and considered
as a part of the municipal corporation of the Mayor and City
Council of Mount Eainier.

SEC. 8. And 6e it further enacted, That the Special Elec-
tion provided for in Section 4, hereof shall be held as far as
possible in the saine manner and in accordance with the laws
applicable to regular elections for city offices in Mount
Rainier; but that since no registration lists will have been
prepared, all persons shall be entitled to vote who according
to the poll books qualified and voted in the referendum for
annexation as hereinafter provided, also any other residents
of the territory who shall appear and qualify in the same man-
ner shall be allowed to vote. At least 30 days before the
Special Election the Mayor and City Council of Mount Rainier
shall appoint two Supervisors of Election who shall act as
judges of election and shall give notice of the election and
receive nominations for the office of Councilman of the Fifth
Ward, in a manner similar to that required for regular city
elections in the City of Mount Eainier. Two clerks of elec-
tion shall also be appointed at least one week before the
Special Election. Immediately after the close of the polls
the ballots cast at the Special Election shall be counted and
return made to the City. The Mayor and City Council of
Mount Rainier shall meet on October 9, 1947, canvass the vote,
declare elected the person who received the most votes and
have the oath of office administered to him, after which he
will forthwith take his seat in the Council.

SEC. 9. And be it further enacted, That for the purpose
of determining whether the residents of the territory herein-
above described desire the same to be annexed to the City of
Mount Rainier there shall be held an election on the second
day of September, 1947, and J. Anselmo, William Mosher,
Louis Mayola and Mrs. Marian Cord are hereby appointed
a committee for the purpose of holding said election. In
the event any of said committee shall die, become incapaci-
tated from acting for any cause, or refuse to act, the said
election shall be held by the remaining member or members
