Anne's, Worcester, Talbot, Howard and Charles Counties,
shall each be entitled to receive the annual salary of
$3,600.
The Clerk of the Circuit Court of Garrett County shall
be entitled to receive the annual salary of $4,000.
The Clerk of the Circuit Court of Carroll County shall
be entitled to receive the annual salary of $4,200.
The Clerk of the Circuit Court of Wicomico County shall
be entitled to receive the annual salary of $4,500.
The Clerks of the Circuit Courts of Anne Arundel, Bal-
timore, Washington and Allegany Counties shall each be
entitled to receive the annual salaries of $4,800.
The Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cecil County shall be
entitled to receive the annual salary of $5,000.
The Clerks of the Circuit Courts of Montgomery and
Prince Goerge's Counties shall each be entitled to receive
the annual salaries of $5,400.
(d) The salaries of the Clerks of Courts shall be pay-
able semi-monthly from the fees, receipts and emoluments
of the office, after first deducting therefrom the necessary
expenses of the office, including salaries of deputies and
clerks, books, stationery, office supplies and other neces-
sary and customary expenses of doing business. If there
shall be any excess of the fees, receipts and emoluments of
the office in any year, after deduction of expenses and
salaries, including that of the Clerk, all such excess shall
be paid to the Treasurer of the State. If the fees and re-
ceipts of the office shall be insufficient in any year to pay
all or any part of the authorized salary of any Clerk, the
deficiency shall be paid to the said Clerk by the Comptrol-
ler from funds provided for that purpose in the State
budget.
The Clerks of Court of Baltimore City and of the sev-
eral counites shall, respectively, devote their full working
time to the duties of their office.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1947.
