On motion by Mr. Humphreys, it was
Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that Senator
Peter has been detained from the Senate by sickness.
On motion by Mr. Gorman, it was

Ordered, That the Chairman of the Committee on Claims
be and he is hereby directed to issue his Certificate in favor
of James Legg, Esq., for his per diem from the commence-
ment of the present session of the Senate.

Mr. Miller from Committee on Federal Relations, reported
unfavorably,

House bill entitled an Act authorizing the Governor to
appoint ten Commissioners to represent the State of Maryland
at the Paris Exposition.

Which was adopted.

Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and re-
turned the following bills:

Senate bill to appropriate a sum of money to pay Joseph
F. Morgan, for services rendered in arrest of violaters of the
Fishery Laws.

Endorsed: "Rejected for want of a Constitutional major-
ity."

Senate bill to amend Sections 41 and 42 of Article 19,
Public Local Laws, title "Somerset County," sub-title "Coun-
ty Commissioners," providing for a County Clerk and Treas-
urer.

Endorsed: "Passed by yeas and nays, with the following
proposed amendment:"

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Section 42, line 4, after the word "Exceeding," strike out
"Six," and insert "Three."
