AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Insert the word "or" between the words mining and
manufacturing, in the sixth line of section 1.

Insert the words "or of" after the word manufactur-
ing in the sixth line in section 1.

Strike out the words "steam or," in the sixth line
of section 1.

Strike out "a" and insert "an" after the word oper-
ating in the sixth line of section 1.

The bill was read a first time, and amendments
adopted.

REPORTS OF SELECT COMMITTEES.
Mr. Linthicum, from Baltimore city delegation, re-
ported favorably, with amendments,

House bill, File No. 106, entitled "An Act to repeal
section 623 of Article 4, of the Public Laws of Mary-
land, title 'City of Baltimore,' sub-title 'Miscellaneous
Local Laws,' sub-division 'Justices of the Peace,' and
to re-enact the same with amendments.' "
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

1. Strike out the word "no" in section 1, line 8,
before the number "623."

2. Insert the words "shall further appoint," after
the word "and" and before the word "twelve" in sec-
tion 1, line 13.

3. Strike out the word "ten," in section 1, line 9,
after the word "appoint" and insert the word "twelve"
in lieu thereof.

4. Strike out the word "four," in section 1, line 12,
after the word "and," and insert the word "six" in
lieu thereof.

Which was read, adopted, and ordered to be en-
grossed for a third reading.
