warrant of law of the property of said Canal Com-
pany in the construction of said road, and are using
it in such a manner as to largely impair the value of
the property of said Canal Company.

Be it resolved by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Governor, Comptroller and Treasurer
constituting the Board of Public Works of Maryland,
be and they are hereby directed to instruct the Attor-
ney-General to take such action as may be necessary
to enjoin the persons so occupying and using the
property of the Canal Company in the District of
Columbia, and to bring the attention of the Circuit
Court for Washington county of Maryland, the action
of the persons now in charge of the Canal by order of
said Court, and to pray for an order of the Court di-
recting said trustees to prevent the misuse of the
property of the said Canal Company.

Which were read the first time and referred to the
Committee on Railroads and Canals.

REPORTS OF SELECT COMMITTEES.

Mr. Waters, from a Select Committee, reported
favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to direct H. Fillmore
Lankford, Clerk of Circuit Court for Somerset county,
to refund illegal fines paid for alleged violations of
local oyster laws.

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Dawson, from a Select Committee, reported
favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal the first and
third sections of the Article of incorporation of the
Hillsborough Methodist Episcopal Church South, and
to re-enact the first section with amendments.

Which was read the second time, and ordered to
be engrossed, for a third reading.

BILLS AND RESOLUTIONS—THIRD READING-

House bill entitled . an Act to repeal and re-enact
with amendments section 252, of Article 4, of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "City of Bal-
timore,' sub title "Elections."
