PREFACE TO INDEX

The utility of an index to a Legislative Journal is
best subserved by concentrating its contents under as
few heads as possible. The necessity of completing
this index within a limited time has somewhat inter-
fered with this purpose, but has not prevented its
accomplishment in all essential matters. For the assist-
ance of those searching for particular subjects in this
book, the following Heads are subjoined, of the most
important matters, for their guide :
