1892.] OF THE SENATE, 1217

"Section 4. And be it enacted, That if any person,
house, company, association or body corporate, shall
sell directly or indirectly, at any place within said,
radius, any spirituous or fermented liquors on or after
the first day of May, 1893, he, she or they shall, on
conviction thereof, forfeit and pay a fine of not less
than fifty dollars nor more than one hundred dollars
and the costs of the prosecution, or be confined in the
county jail for thirty days, in the discretion of the
court.

"Section 5. And be it enacted, That one-half of the
fine imposed for any violation of this Act, shall go to
the informer, and the residue to the special road and
bridge fund of said county.

"Section 6. And be it enacted, That all Acts or
parts of Acts inconsistent hereof be and the same are
hereby repealed."

Which were adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was read the second time. .

Mr. Pearre, from a Select Committee, reported fav-
orably,

House bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Cum-
berland Stone Company,

With the following proposed amendment :
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Strike out "Section 8" in its entirety.

Make section 9, section 8; section 10, section 9; sec-
tion 11, section 10.

Which was adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was read the second time.
On motion by Mr. Gorter,

The rules were suspended so as to give a third read-
ing this day to

House bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of
money for the support of the Home for Mothers and
Infants of Baltimore city,
