ORDERS.

Mr. Evans presented the following:

Ordered, That the Chairman of the Committee on
Claims issue his warrant to John W. Smith, carpenter
of the Senate, for $2.00 additional per diem from the
beginning of the session, equalizing the per diem with
that of the other officers of the Senate,

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on
Finance.

Mr. Hayes presented the following:

Ordered by the Senate, That the balance of the
salary for this session of the Senate, which would
have been due the late Senator Talbott if he had lived,
be paid to his widow, Mrs. E. T, Talbott.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on
Finance.

On motion by Mr. Hayes, it was

Ordered by the Senate, That when the Senate ad-
journs to-night, it adjourns to meet on Monday next
at 11 A. M.

Which was adopted.

REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES.

Mr. Getty, from the Committee on Corporations,
reported favorably the following bills:

House bill entitled an Act to amend the charter of
the Baltimore, Canton and Point Breeze Railway
Company of Baltimore city.

House bill entitled an Act to amend Article 23, of
the Code of Public General Laws, title "Corpor-
ations," providing for the service of notice in condem-
nation proceedings.

House bill entitled an Act to add an additional
section to Article 23, of the Code of Public General
Laws, title "Corporations," sub-title "Insurance De-
partment," providing for the employment by the In-
surance Commissioner of counsel for said department.

Which were read the second time.

Mr. Getty, from the Committee on Corporations,
reported without, recommendations,
