1935, ch. 282, sec. 402.

478. (Student Practice Upon the Public for Pay Prohibited.) It shall
be unlawful for any school of beauty culture to permit its students to
practice beauty culture upon the public, under any circumstances, except
by way of clinical work upon persons willing to submit themselves to such
practice after having first been properly informed that the operator is a
student. No school of beauty culture shall, directly or indirectly, charge
any money whatsoever for treatment by its students or for materials used
in such treatment.

1935, ch. 282, sec. 403.

479. (Practice in Beauty Shops (My.) It shall be unlawful for any
person to practice beauty culture for compensation of any kind in any
place other than a registered beauty shop; provided that nothing con-
tained in this sub-title shall prevent duly registered operators from prac-
ticing beauty culture upon their patrons in the residences of such patrons
by appointment.

1935, ch. 282, sec. 404.

480. (Appointment of Board.) There is hereby created a Board to be
known as the "State Board of Hairdressers and Beauty Culturists." With-
in 30 days after June 1, 1935, the Governor shall appoint a State Board
of Hairdressers and Beauty Culturists, consisting of three (3) members.
Such members must have at least five (5) years practical experience hair-
dressing or beauty culture, shall be citizens of this State, and shall not be
members of nor affiliated with any establishment, firm or corporation manu-
facturing or selling by wholesale or jobbing any articles, supplies or mer-
chandise, commonly used in hairdressing or beauty shops, and shall not
be directly or indirectly connected with any school of beauty culture, and
no two members shall serve at the same time who are graduates of the
same school of beauty culture. The members of the first Board shall serve
one, two and three years, respectively, from July 1, 1935; succeeding
members shall serve for terms of three years respectively and have the
qualifications, hereinabove expressed.

1935, ch. 282, sec. 405.

481. (Officers of Board.) The State Board of Hairdressers and Beauty
Culturists shall have a Chairman, who shall be elected by members of the
Board annually from among its members. The Board shall appoint a
Secretary, who shall not be a member of the Board, at a compensation to
be fixed by the Board not to exceed $2,400.00 per year. Members of the
Board may administer oaths.

1935, ch. 282, sec. 406.

482. (Secretary. Bond Required.) The Secretary of said Board shall
give a corporate surety bond, payable to the Board, in the penal sum of
Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00), the premium for such bond to be
part of the expenses of said Board, conditioned for the faithful perform-
ance of the duties of his or her office. Such bond shall have the approval
of the Board and shall be deposited with the Chairman of the Board and
kept in his or her office.
