following general municipal election or at a special election to be called
by the Mayor and Council for the said purpose upon the same notice
and subject to the same laws as the general election held by said munici-
pality.

318. Said levy shall be deemed authorized if a majority of the votes
cast at said election be in favor of said proposition, and the Mayor and
Council of Salisbury shall then levy a tax sufficient to support or employ
such band, not to exceed five cents on each one hundred dollars of the
assessed valuation of said city.

319. A like petition may at any time be presented to the Mayor and
Council of Salisbury, asking that the following proposition be submitted,
to wit: "Shall the power to levy a tax for the maintenance or employment
of a band be cancelled?"; that said submission shall be made at the next
following general municipal election or at a special election to be called
by the Mayor and Council for the said purpose upon the same notice
and subject to the same laws as the general election held by said munici-
pality, and if the majority of the votes cast be in favor of said question,
no further levy for said purposes shall be made by the Mayor and Council
of Salisbury.

320. All funds derived from said levy shall be expended by the Mayor
and Council of Salisbury only for the purposes set forth in the first section
of this Act,
WATER AND SEWERS.
1924, oh. 494, sec. 1.
321. For the purpose of providing funds for the design, construction,
establishment, purchase or condemnation and maintenance and operation
of the water supply, sewerage and drainage systems of the City of Salis-
bury, the Mayor and Council of Salisbury is hereby authorized, empowered
and directed to issue bonds from time to time in such amounts as may be
deemed necessary by the Commission hereinafter named, and, when re-
quested by said Commission, to carry on the said work, but at no time shall
the total amount of such bonds exceed the sum of five hundred and fifty
thousand dollars. Said bonds shall be either registered or coupon bonds
issued in such denominations as shall be determined by the Mayor and
Council of Salisbury by ordinance, shall bear interest not exceeding five
per cent, per annum, payable semi-annually, may be either the serial or
sinking fund bond type, and shall mature not exceeding fifty years from
the date of issue, and shall be forever exempt from State, county and mu-
nicipal taxation. Said bonds shall be signed by the Mayor of Salisbury,
with the seal of the city attached thereto, attested by the Clerk of Salisbury,
