473. The Register of Wills for Caroline County is hereby authorized
and required to prepare and make a general index of the will record books
in his office, and shall carefully compare the names embraced in such index
with all the wills of record therein.

474. The County Commissioners of Caroline County are hereby au-
thorized and required to levy upon the assessable property of said county
as other county charges are levied, a sum sufficient to pay the said register
of wills three cents for each name entered in said general index; and also
to pay the costs of a well bound and suitable book for the purpose.

475. The Orphans' Court of Caroline County is hereby authorized and
empowered to direct the rebinding, repair and titling of any of the books
in the office of the said register of wills, which have or may, by reason
of age or use become defaced or injured; and also to direct the register to
copy any book index, which may be worn or unsuited for use, and the
County Commissioners of Caroline County are hereby authorized and
required to levy upon the assessable property of said county, as other
county charges are levied, a sum sufficient to pay all costs and expenses
incurred on account of said work and services.

476. The inhabitants of the Town of Ridgely in Caroline County,
are hereby created a body corporate, by the name of the Commissioners of
Ridgely, with all the powers and privileges of a body politic and corporate,
and by said corporate name may have perpetual succession, and by that
name may sue and be sued, may purchase and hold real, personal and
mixed property, or dispose of the same for the benefit of said town, and
may have and use a common seal, which may be altered at pleasure, and
the said corporation may organize, proceed and act through its Commis-
sioners to be selected as hereinafter provided.

477. Said corporation may receive in trust and may control, for the
purpose of such trusts, all money or other property which may be bestowed
upon such corporation by will, deed or in any other form of gift or convey-
ance for any general corporation purpose or in aid of the indigent and poor
or for charitable purpose within said village; and the said corporation may
lease or otherwise dispose of any property which may be hereafter acquired
by said village, having first given public notice of such lease or sale in one
