AGRICULTURE.*
1. State Board of Agriculture.
2. Rules and by-laws; officers and
employees; offices.
7. Powers and duties ; rules and reg-
ulations.
8. Reports to Legislature and Gov-
ernor.
9. Assistance of sheriffs, constable,
policemen, etc.
10. State's attorneys to prosecute vio-
lations.

sent to act of Congress.

1. A commission is hereby established which shall be known under
the name and style of the "State Board of Agriculture" to consist of
nine persons, citizens of the State of Maryland, who shall be appointed
by the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Senate. The term
of each of the nine members shall be nine years and until his successor
qualifies and shall commence on the first Monday of June next ensuing
his appointment; except that of the members appointed by the Governor
in the year 1916, the Governor'shall designate one to serve until the
first Monday of June 1917, one to serve until the first Monday of
June 1918, one to serve until the first Monday of June 1919, one to
serve until the first Monday of June 1920, one to serve until the first
Monday of June 1921, one to serve until the first Monday of June
1922, one to serve until the first Monday of June 1923, one to serve
until the first Monday of June 1924, one to serve until the first
Monday of June 1925. The members of said Board shall not receive
compensation for their services but shall be paid their reasonable neces-
sary expenses while engaged in the discharge of their official duties, and
before entering upon such duties shall take the oath prescribed by the
Constitution. In case of any vacancy the Governor shall appoint a
person to fill the same, to serve until the expiration of the time for
which the person so vacating said office was appointed. Commencing
in the year 1917 and thereafter the Governor shall appoint one member
