way in the State of Maryland, as may be required by said
United States Government in the survey and construction of
a road or highway from the District of Columbia to Winthrop
Post Office, in Charles county, State of Maryland, and all
deeds, conveyances or papers for such land, riparian rights, or
rights of way, shall be recorded as in other cases, among the
Land Records of the county wherein the property affected
thereby is located, or in all counties in which the same may
be located in part; and if such land, riparian rights, or rights
of way cannot be acquired by purchase, gift or otherwise, or
for any other reason title thereto cannot be obtained, the same
may be condemned in the manner as is in other cases provided
for, by the laws of the State of Maryland, the proceedings
being in the name of the United States and being in con-
formity with the laws of the State of Maryland.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That jurisdiction is
hereby ceded to the United States over all such lands as may
be obtained by it for the aforesaid purpose, however, that
concurrent jurisdiction with the United States over all lands
obtained under the provisions of this act is hereby retained by
the State of Maryland as to all crimes or misdemeanors com-
mitted thereon, and that all process, both civil and criminal of
the State of Maryland, or of any municipal corporation thereof,
may be executed upon the lands so obtained, or in any building
erected thereon.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted. That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 340.
AN ACT to amend the charter of the Central Savings Bank of
Baltimore (the name of which bank was formerly the Dime
Savings Bank of Baltimore), by repealing section 3 of the
act passed at January Session, eighteen hundred and fifty-
four, Chapter three hundred and twenty, entitled "An Act
to incorporate the Dime Savings Bank, in the City of Balti-
more," and to re-enact the same with amendments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That section three of the act passed at January Session
eighteen hundred and fifty-four, Chapter three hundred and
twenty, entitled "An Act to incorporate the Dime Savings
