difference is due to the redemption during the latter year
of the State 5 per cent. Sterling Bonds. The disburse-
ments in detail appear in "Statement B" of this report
The balance in the Treasury at the close of the fiscal year
was $541,330.30.

ESTIMATES.

The estimates of receipts for the current fiscal year are
detailed in "Statement C," amounting in the aggregate
to $2,082,559.90, which, if realized and added to the bal-
ance in the Treasury on the 3Oth of September last, would
make the total amount in the Treasury during the current
fiscal year to be $2,623,890.20.

"Statement D" gives the estimated disbursements for
the current fiscal year to be $2,036,412.30.

FREE SCHOOL AND SINKING FUNDS.

'' Statement B'' gives a detailed account of the Free
School Fund, and also of the Sinking Funds for the fiscal
year ended 3Oth of September, 1891.

FREE SCHOOL FUND.

The receipts on account of the Free School Fund during
the fiscal year were $69,272.21. This sum added to the
balance standing to the credit of this fund September loth,
1890, viz., $6,938.52, makes an aggregate to the credit of
said fund during the fiscal year 1891 of $76,210.73. The
disbursements from the fund during the same time were
$71,052.21, leaving a balance to the credit of the fund
30th September, 1891, of $5,158.52. These receipts and
disbursements are given in detail in '' Statement E.''

SINKING FUNDS.

'' Statement E '' also gives in detail the receipts into the
several Sinking Funds for the fiscal year, viz.:

There was invested on account of these Sinking Funds,
during the past fiscal year, the sum of $604,888.53, leaving
cash balance to the credit of the Treasuiy Relief Sinking
Fund of $81.21.
