REPORT
OF THE
Comptroller of the Treasury
OF THE STATE OF MARYLAND.
COMPTROLLER'S OFFICE,
TREASURY DEPARTMENT,
Annapolis, Md., January 3, 1887.
To His Excellency, Henry Lloyd,
Governor of Maryland :
I respectfully submit to your Excellency this, my
third report of the condition of the State Treasury,
embracing the fiscal year ending on the 30th day of Sep-
tember, 1886, as required by the 9th Section of the 9th
Article, of the Revised Code of the Public General.
Laws.
RECEIFfS.
The total receipts into the Treasury from all sources
during the fiscal year amounted to the sum of $1,994,-
278.77, which, added to the balance in the Treasury on
the 30th day of September, 1885, makes the total amount
in the Treasury during the fiscal year of $2,741,686.10.
The receipts for the year have been a fraction less than
they were for the years 1884 and 1885, but they are
about what have been the average for the past nine
years.
It is very gratifying to find that notwithstanding the
general depression that has prevailed throughout the
country, and the consequent lessening of revenues of
all monetary institutions, that the receipts of our State
Treasury are satisfactory.
