Being on second reading,
Mr. Brattan submitted the following amendments :

In line 21, strike out all after the word "River," to the
word "Bay," inclusive, in the 23d line.

After the word "States," in the 24th line, insert the words
"or if preferred by the Commonwealth of Virginia, this lat-
ter provision may be omitted."

Which were severally read and adopted.

Also, submitted the following amendment:

In the Second Resolution, after the word "resolved," in-
sert the words "by the General Assembly of Maryland."

Which was adopted.

Mr. Billingsley submitted the following amendment:

In the Fourth Resolution, after the word "city," in the 2d
line, insert the following, "Hon. William Pinkney Whyte,
of Baltimore city, and Hon. James U. Dennis, of Somerset
county," and after the word "requested," insert the words
'' without compensation."

Which was adopted.

The said Resolutions, as amended, were read the second
time and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 51 and 52
of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled '"Prince George's,"
under head of "Collectors," enacted at January Session, 1868,
chapter 330, and sections 47 and 48 of said Article XVI.,
enacted at January Session, 1872, chapter 294, and re-enact
the following as sections 47, 48, 51 and 52 of said Article
XVI. of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "Prince
George's County," under the head of "Collectors," in their
stead.

Being on second reading,

Mr. Suit presented the following petition with reference
thereto :

To the Honorable

The Senate and House of Delegates of Maryland:

We, the undersigned, County Commissioners of Prince
George's county do most earnestly enter our protest agai»st
the passage of the bill recently introduced in your Honorable
Body by the Senator from Anne Arundel county, entitled
an Act to repeal sections 51 and 52 of the Code of Public Lo-
cal Laws, entitled "Prince George's County," under the head
